Airbus/GTI Working Session

On February 27th, the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes (GTI) hosted the Airbus/UPM Working Session. The hybrid in-person and telematic meeting was attended by representatives from Airbus Germany, Airbus Spain, and NASA who were also invited to explore our facilities and immerse themselves in the exciting initiatives we carry out.

The day started with an overview of the GTI activities highlighting our main achievements. This was followed by a presentation of the Airbus Defence and Space multidomain perspective of multiplatform operations. These initial presentations undoubtedly generated conversation and enthusiasm.

Then, the proposal for Mariott 2024 and relevant details about the Ascension Project were shared, followed by a proposal for a new project in collaboration with Airbus in 2025. The room was full of energy and excitement for future possibilities.

The representative from NASA presented an analysis of distributed time-critical coordinated events opening exciting opportunities for collaboration on the horizon. Later, Geo-registration was discussed, a crucial topic that sparked interaction and cross-fertilization of ideas.

The day continued with captivating presentations by talented members of our team, discussing virtual reality research, quality of experience, language modeling and medical imaging. Finally, additional presentations by Airbus members expanded the possibilities for joint collaboration as a result of the previous fruitful discussions.

Finally, the visit was brought to a close with a powerful demonstration of the FVV-Live system. This hands-on demonstration gave our visitors a tangible experience of our advanced technologies and innovative projects.
